Job Description We want to find a Full Time Donation Acquisition person for the West with starting pay of 30K to 32.5K plus bonuses and Benefits which are: Your choice of Dental, Medical and Vision Packages, PTO which is Paid Time off and Life Insurance. The ideal candidate would be someone that is outgoing, and self-disciplined to grow donations in residential, and commercial areas from Panama City to Destin. The Donation Acquisition person will be calling on businesses like weekly rentals, furniture companies, retailers, and wholesale companies requesting overstock, returns, slightly used furniture, and other types of products sold in our stores. Someone that works in Real Estate, Direct Sales or Outside Sales would be most ideal. Effective communication skills required! The Ability to create a positive relationship with agencies and Businesses in the community. Mission Contribution: To support an increase in donation and customer relationship. Primary Function: Develops relationships in the business community through cold calls, community involvement and membership in civic/community organizations. Primarily responsibility is obtaining commercial business donations and developing employee donation drives in the business community. Will primarily focus in Lee County with secondary support to Collier and Charlotte. This person will work directly with our Retail Operations Support Specialist to schedule the pickups and donation drives based through our current home pickup program. Other duties would include working directly with our Marketing and Public Relations department to obtain the necessary marketing materials and communications to delivery maximum results. Develops territories to achieve the maximum donor per household activity. Coordinates with Retail Operations Team, schedules for pickups and deliveries of donations. Maintains and Grows Existing Donation Base, achieving quarterly and annual donor goals. Maintains communication with other departments on Donor Development Activities. Creates Marketing Material to Target Donation Development Collects relevant donor information to use in making program decisions. Ensures the tracking of all pounds collected from all events and businesses. Completes appropriate paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Provide leadership, motivation and supervision for all donation activities coordinated through the position. Explain to prospective donors the Goodwill mission, its fit with their business needs, benefits, and the steps needed to utilize Goodwill services. Conduct presentations for groups in the business & government sector, as well as the community at large for the purpose of education, awareness building, and marketing that are informative, and tuned to that particular group’s values/interests Demonstrate positive role modeling for coworkers and participants. Lead by example in support of Goodwill’s rules, policies, and procedures. Ensure coworkers and participants adhere to agency rules, policies, and procedures Responsible for knowing, understanding, complying with, and enforcing Goodwill’s safety programs (ie handbook, policies, procedures, etc.). Continually support the agency safety program Work with Sr. Director of Donor Development and Sustainability to assure consistency of message and to coordinate activities. Has wide authority in performing most aspects of the job, such as scheduling workload and making day-to-day decisions necessary to perform the position function. Provides weekly call tracker of all business contacts weekly and number of times communication has occurred. Will assist in other large donation drive activities as needed. Abilities and Knowledge: Must have the ability to sell, ie to convince people to give to Goodwill. Must have a commitment to achieving results and to attaining and surpassing goals. Able to travel daily through the service area of Goodwill Industries on a regular basis using personal transportation. Must be able to keep detailed, legible records and generate accurate and timely reports and correspondence. Ability to analyze information for the purpose of making data based decisions concerning donors and site locations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with the ability to create written and oral presentations for sales calls. Good organization and computer skills Must be able to overcome rejection and indifference; moderate, occasional short deadlines requiring some overtime; work environment occasionally hectic with occasional periods of high stress. Knowledge and ability to research all options in the implementation of new business models. After researching new business models have the ability to produce the desired results to diversify revenue and operations. Must have knowledge of and commitment to the mission, programs and goals of Goodwill Industries. The knowledge to assure that all commercial donations pose no safety hazards Have the ability, knowledge and proven Management experience. Skills: Demonstrated willingness to “cold call” businesses for donations. Demonstrated ability to produce results to “cold calls”. To learn the Goodwill mission and goals. Ability to work with little supervision Application of Goodwill policies and procedures. General Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Some time spent traveling within Goodwill territory by automobile. Some time spent at work locations of donor businesses. Office and general duties at least one day per week. Lifting, carrying heavy items; stooping, stretching and bending required. Must make a professional conservative appearance and practice good personal hygiene. Must be able to access local businesses. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of business, communications or a related area. At least five years successful experience in the field of sales and/or business management. The ideal staffer will know the leaders of our base area community and be known by them, have extensive experience in direct sales and be familiar with the donated goods operation of a Goodwill Industries and be an enthusiastic ambassador for Goodwill in the community. Valid Florida driver license, class c or e, with acceptable driving record for insurab ility by company’s insurance carrier and dependable transportation. Follows all traffic and DMV regulations.
