For more information click on ourE-Verify website.Requisition No: 29378Agency: Department of HealthWorking Title: REGISTERED NURSE SPECIALIST - 64069427Position Number: 64069427Salary: $38,302.24Posting Closing Date: 02/08/2018This Nursing Program Specialist is responsible for performing nursing and case management for HIV positive clients, AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) back up, Chronic Hepatitis C clients and PreExposure Prophylactic (PrEP) Program under the direct supervision of the HIV/AIDS Program Coordinator. Maintains confidentiality regarding all client information. This position will keep procedure manuals up to date and comply with policies of the Department of Health in Bay County. Strict adherence to all security guidelines is expected. Phlebotomy experience is necessary.HIV CLINICFor persons identified as HIV/AIDS positive, provides nursing interventions based on nursing assessment consistent with the quality standards as defied by Public Health nursing practice and using the HRSA guidelines for quality care for HIV/AIDS patients. Provide interventions such as teaching, counseling and administration of treatments/therapies as prescribed by the clinicians. Provides nursing treatments in the clinic for HIV positive individuals. Manages patients with HIV disease and ensures that physician s/ARNP orders are followed. Tracks patients in HMS case management module for HIV/AIDS patient care. Works with clients to link clients to other care as recommended by physician/ARNP. Attend training as needed or required. Works with health department clinicians in a cooperative manner to ensure quality care for HIV positive clients.PrEP CLINICAssist in the PrEP clinic for persons identified as having high risk behavior and assists in obtaining PrEP medications.ADAP BACK UPAssist by being a back up to the ADAP program. Complete the ADAP training which includes: screening referrals, eligibility, charting, case management, insurance benefits, ADAP medication ordering and adherence for clients.HEPATITIS CLINICFor persons identified as HIV positive and have Hepatitis, provides case management and informs client of options for monitoring and treating the disease. Works with the clinicians on treatment plan, educating the client and assisting with prescription assistance programs.EARS, TIME MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING, PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS REQUIRED:Completes all required reporting such as EARS, documentation requirements, requests and assignments correctly and within allotted time frames. Attends staff meetings, in-service trainings and other professional and staff development activities.Assists in additional office related activities and duties as cumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
