About The Opportunity
Project Schedulers work within a program team and are responsible for developing and maintaining schedules that comply with a program's Technical Performance Requirements (TPRs), Contract Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS), and/or the Contract Statement of Work (CSOW.) Work with program team and the Earned Value Lead to establish and monitor the programs execution towards milestones, key events, and significant accomplishment criteria. The Scheduler develops and manages a project or program schedule that will communicate to all levels of the project team and stakeholders effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work closely with Program Managers and IPT Leads to develop and maintain detailed schedules of projects using MS Project 2007/2010
* Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, base lining, stat using, performance measurement baseline Budget at Completion (BAC), Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Estimate at Completion (EAC), and Estimate to Complete (ETC)
* Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, and other program management tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work authorizations, priority based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration
* Develop and Maintains schedule version control processes, policies, and procedures and ensures that they are followed on product development schedules
* Work in collaboration with Project/Program Management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting
* Schedule estimating through elicitation of stakeholders to capture estimations of new work, updated actuals and remaining work
* Identify major milestones, decision points, project life-cycle and other project events
* Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems
* Assist in defining and implementing schedule software (MS Project, Primavera, or specific program mandated software, etc.) management processes and procedures regarding scheduling conflicts/changes
* Maintain accurate records/paperwork
* Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews
* Prepares IMS status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
* Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
* Interfaces with teams in different parts of the organization, including Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance to foster the integration of data and business processes.
Required Qualifications:
* BS/BA in Business Administration, Engineering or other relevant major. Master s degree preferred. Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
* 10+ years of experience of purchasing, preferably in aerospace/defense manufacturing
* Experience of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR and DFAR)
* U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to: criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness. This clearance must be maintained during employment. Preferred applicants who hold active DoD Secret Security clearance.
Additional Qualifications:
* Experience with Earned Value methodologies
* Extremely proficient in MS Project, MS Excel, MS Office
* Minimum six (6) years of demonstrated experience managing a schedule for an engineering program involving hardware and/or software development and multiple sub-components using MS Project
* Creative and innovative, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in work style to better respond to multiple requests/tasks and handle sudden changes in priorities. Able to embrace and participate in change initiatives
* Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and suppliers
* Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment
* Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical demands:
* Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations and using office equipment.
* May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
* May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
* May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials
* May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
