Position Specifics: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Position supports Panama City location. Full:time telework will be considered. Candidate must have the following qualifications:
* Experience with planning, executing, and documenting hardware and software design/test program required.
* Experience with embedded system using C++, Linux
* Experience with control systems
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio).
* Strong attention to software development best practices required.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
* Self:motivated and able to prioritize and lead multiple tasks with limited oversight required.
* High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail required.
* Proven communication and social skills required.
* Excellent writing skills and a demonstrated ability to develop written process documentation required.
* Experience with Software Development Life Cycles, both traditional (waterfall, iterative, spiral, etc.) and agile relevant.
Candidate will be responsible for management of autonomous vehicle software projects within USG, specifically overseeing all phases of technical projects from inception through completion; responsible for cost, schedule and technical performance. Provide unmanned vehicle and autonomy related software development, field demonstrations and testing. Perform requirements development, software development, lab testing, and field testing. Document software, develop test cases, test plans and test results, prepare technical reports, present results, and demonstrate capabilities to peer review, team members and sponsors. Perform technical project leadership role for small and medium size teams. Candidate would participate in the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, act as the primary customer contact for software activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss business objectives, project cost, schedule, and technical performance, develops new business or expands the product line with the customer, establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications, ensure formal customer commitments are met according to schedule/budget, and collaborate with other project/program managers and department leadership to manage project interdependencies.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
